Winning Designs to Appear on Limited Edition "Artist Series" Launching in 2011

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Vapur Inc., makers of the VAPUR® Anti-Bottle ™, a foldable, flexible, reusable eco-friendly water bottle, is pleased to announce the winners of its "Thirst for Design" competition. The contest, facilitated by the online creative collaboration platform jovoto, invited artists from around the world to submit graphic designs to appear on Vapur's new "Artist Series" of Anti-Bottles scheduled for release in 2011.The Thirst for Design contest began in July with the goal of uncovering fresh designs for a series of limited-edition Anti-Bottles. During an eight-week run, nearly 300 artists from around the world submitted 1,000 designs to be selected for one of three limited-edition "Artist Series" bottles. The winners were chosen from 27 finalists by a distinguished panel of judges known for their creativity and commitment to the environment including Lara Deam of Dwell Magazine, Karen Solomon of Opportunity Green, William Schwartz of TapIt, Laurenz Schaffer of BMW DesignWorks, Jonathan Greenblatt of Allforgood.org,Matthew Lloyd of Method Home and HDTV Design Star Antonio Ballatore."We are thrilled with the outcome," said Jason Carignan, Chief Design Officer and Co-Founder of Vapur. "The Anti-Bottle is like no other — it's where form meets function and where beauty and utility meld together — so our winning designs needed to reflect that unique sensibility. The number of entrants and the quality of their work far exceeded our expectations."Each international juried winner will see their designs grace the 2011 limited-edition "Artist Series" bottles. The winning designs will be celebrated at the upcoming Opportunity Green Business Conference 2010 in Los Angeles, which takes place September 22-24. The winners are:-David Herbst, 24, of Germany, for his "Bottle Inhabitants" design-Marcel Weik, 30, of Germany, for his "Aqua Libre" design-Waqar Hassan Syed, 24, of Pakistan, for his "Thirsty" design"Our winners were chosen for their iconic, original designs, which exhibited a level of creativity consistent with the Vapur brand," Carignan said.In addition to the juried winners, the jotovo design community selected six additional winners via an online forum designed to showcase entries and allow the public to rate their favorites. Online community members posted more than 11,000 ratings and more than 2,600 comments on the site. These six additional winners will receive a cash prize and recognition throughout the design world for their talents. They are:-Leonardo Gonzalez, 27, of Venezuela, for his "Water is Fun" design-David Herbst, 24, of Germany, for his "Bottle Inhabitants" design-Thorsten Kuss, 35, of Germany, for his "Fantastic Tap Water" design-Harpreet Padam, 31, of India, for his "World Changers Collection" design-Jorge A. Garcia Razo, 25, of Mexico, for his "Relation Between Plants and Water" design-Yorik Illescas, 34, of Guatemala, for his "Small World" design.Vapur is looking forward to the launch of the "Artist Series" and were thrilled to create a platform for the talented designers from around the world.
